Our own work comes first: we reimagine what a useful app should have been, and build it from first
principles. That is how Rooftop Wealth, WellFam, ExpressoCards, Sizzle and Pet Passport – Vault
came to be. Now and then, we bring someone else’s idea to life the same way. This page is for that.
Take one of these on its own, or several together.
Websites
For businesses that need to be found, trusted and booked
A site that loads fast, reads clearly, and does its one job, whether that is bookings,
enquiries or sales. We write or edit the copy with you, because most sites fail on words, not on design.
Reference: this site, and the marketing sites for each of our products.
You get
Design and build, responsive and accessible
Copywriting and editing
Booking, contact forms or payments where needed
Search basics: metadata, sitemap, performance
Analytics that respect your visitors
Domain, hosting and code in your name
iOS & web apps
For founders and businesses with a product to put in people’s hands
From a clickable prototype to a released app. We have taken our own apps through App Store
review, in-app purchase, privacy disclosures and support pages. Those are the parts that usually stall a first
launch.
Accounts, sync and offline behaviour where it matters
Subscriptions or one-time purchases
App Store submission, privacy labels, support pages
A fixed window of post-launch fixes
Product consultation
For owners and founders about to spend real money on software
This is the thinking before the building. You get a clear statement of the problem, what version one
should contain, what it should leave out, and what it should cost your customers. It comes as a document you
can act on, whether or not we build it.
Scope for v1: what’s in and what’s out, with reasons
A build plan with a realistic range for cost and time
Pricing and packaging review
An honest review of an existing product or site
Made-to-measure software
For one person, one family or one business with a specific need
Software built around exactly what you need, and nothing you don’t: a learning lab for your child,
a tool for your shop floor, a tracker for your clinic. It runs on the web and installs like an app on phones, tablets
and computers, or ships as a native iPhone app. Android and Windows on request.
Example: Chip Lab, a private robotics lab our founder built for his son. Lessons matched to
his robotics kit, a 3D board he can turn, a real circuit simulator, quizzes and badges. No ads, no accounts, and it works offline.
You get
Software shaped around one specific need
A web app that installs on any device, or native iOS
Android or Windows on request
Private by default: no ads, no tracking, data kept on the device where possible
The code and the data are yours
From $499 for a small, single-purpose tool. Bigger builds are quoted.

Launch films
For any app, website or product that needs to be seen
Short product ads made from your real screens and real footage, set to an original score written for
the film. No stock clips, no licensing worries. Built to work with the sound off, and delivered for feed, Reels and LinkedIn.
Every film below was made this way, for our own products.
You get
A 15–30 second film from your real product
Original music and sound design, yours to use
Feed (4:5), Reels and Stories (9:16), and LinkedIn (1:1)
On-screen words that tell the story with the sound off
One round of changes
From $99 for a short film. Longer films and extra cuts are quoted.

Design concepts
To show range. Every one is buildable; none is client work, and every name is invented.
Different businesses need different software. A few concepts, from playful to buttoned-up, each with a
real interaction you could put in front of your customers.
*Domain included when a standard .ca or .com is available for under $25 a year. If yours is taken,
we’ll help you find a good one; premium domains are passed through at cost.
After year one, hosting and the domain renew at cost, or we transfer everything to you at no charge. You own the
domain, the site and the content once it’s paid for.
Starter is paid at kickoff; Business is 50% to start and 50% at launch. Prices exclude applicable taxes.

How it works
No retainers you didn’t ask for, and no surprises on the invoice.
It is the same process we use on our own products, with you in the room.
A conversationYou describe the problem. We tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit.
Written scopeWhat we’ll build, what we won’t, the timeline and a fixed quote. You approve it before any work starts.
Working buildsYou see real progress every week, as something you can click, not a status report.
HandoverThe code, accounts and documentation are yours. You can keep working with us, or not.
Why a small studio? You talk directly to the people who design and build
your product. Nothing gets lost between an account manager and a developer you never meet. We take on a few
projects at a time for that reason.

Questions
How much does a project cost?
Websites start at $399 (Starter) and $799 (Business); see the packages. Made-to-measure
software starts at $499, and launch films at $99. Apps and larger sites are quoted after a conversation, and you get a fixed quote before anything is built. If the budget and the idea
don’t match, we will show you what fits, often a smaller first version.
Do we own the code and the accounts?
Yes. Domains, hosting, App Store accounts and repositories are set up in your name from the start.
We work inside them; we don’t hold them.
We already have a site or app. Can you work on it?
Often, yes. A consultation is usually the right start: we review what exists and tell you what to keep,
what to fix and what to replace.
Who do you work with?
Independent businesses, practitioners and founders across Canada and the U.S. We work remotely, with calls whenever they help.

Start a project
Tell us about the problem, who has it, and what happens if it stays unsolved. A few sentences is plenty.
